Friends,

First, today we were mourning those heroes who gave their lives in Israel's wars, to establish and protect our precious new State of Israel.

Together the entire country observed a minute of silence last night, with two minutes this morning as our people flocked to the military cemeteries to remember loved ones, too many to describe here. But you can watch the official ceremony that took place at the Kotel, Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City in the video below.

After that, tomorrow, we celebrate Israel's miraculous 70th birthday, giving thanks to all those who deserve it and especially to God above without whose grace we would not have this celebration. We recognize the miracles of our unique generation, back after so long, returned to our land and spreading the word amongst the nations. For those who bless Israel will be blessed, and we all have a role to play in this time. I salute your friendship and strength in working together with us.
