First, today we were mourning those heroes who gave their lives in Israel's wars, to establish and protect our precious new State of Israel.

Together the entire country observed a minute of silence last night, with two minutes this morning as our people flocked to the military cemeteries to remember loved ones, too many to describe here. But you can watch the official ceremony that took place at the Kotel, Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City in the video below.

After that, tomorrow, we celebrate Israel's miraculous 70th birthday, giving thanks to all those who deserve it and especially to God above without whose grace we would not have this celebration. We recognize the miracles of our unique generation, back after so long, returned to our land and spreading the word amongst the nations. For those who bless Israel will be blessed, and we all have a role to play in this time. I salute your friendship and strength in working together with us.

Click here for a special message for the meaningful days we mark this week, based on scriptures and connecting to today - well worth a read.

Wishing you and yours a joyous celebration, first rooted in our collective and personal losses for a nation that has faced war and emerged stronger and more united. Together, with you, we stand and flourish. I extend an invitation to each of you: Set your goal to join us here in Israel within the next six months. Don't you owe it to yourself, your profession, and your spirit?

Let us know you can be part of an upcoming Ethics-approved Congressional mission, or join our business and leadership missions, coming up soon -

Happy 70th, Israel!
