Sermon Series ~ Shelter in Grace

The featured Scripture comes from: 2 Job 2:9-13
for Mike's sermon: From Riches to Rags Part II.

"William Sangster, a London cleric, was dying from muscular disease. When he discovered his fate, he made four resolutions that he kept: "1) I will never complain; 2) I will keep the home bright; 3) I will count my blessings; 4) I will try to turn it to gain." Although Job wanted to keep his life and home bright, there
were some around him that just wouldn’t let that happen.
How should people treat sufferers? And how should sufferers
live through their suffering times?"
~ Pastor Mike

Children's Ministry

Collide Kids Wednesday In this week's lesson, we talk about how, when we have a tough decision to make, God can help us! Join us as we learn what the Bible has to say about making decisions: Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. ~ Proverbs 3:6

Join Crew Leader Delania, Collide Kid Tori, and spend 25 minutes together singing, dancing, laughing, and learning! We would love for you to also have your child(ren) memorize this week's scripture verse and motions and upload a video of them in the comment section under the video on the CLC Facebook page! Have a great week, Collide Kids!

This week's discussion question: Name someone famous you'd like to get a postcard from.

Youth Group 2020-2021

Last Sunday, we ended up canceling our trip to the corn maze. So, it is back on the schedule for this Sunday, as long as the weather cooperates! We will meet at Rolling Acres at 4pm. Remember your masks, money, and a parent and be ready for an evening of fun and fellowship!

Youth are also invited to come on out on Saturday to help with the Giveaway. This is a great opportunity to serve your community.

Youth Group is open to kids in 5th-12th grade.

Parents, we have a YG permission waiver we need you to fill out next time you're here.

Youth Group Christmas Project 2020

This year the youth felt that our Christmas project should reflect the current situation in our country. With the pandemic and the quarantine resulting in job losses and economic hardship for many, food insecurity issues have increased in our valley and across the country. As a way to reach out and help our community, we have decided to collect donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. After the Coat & Clothing Giveaway, we will put up our collection area for non-perishable food items as well monetary donations. Please prayerfully consider how you might help.

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

Whenever you have a prayer request, please don't hesitate to send it in! We are here to pray with and for you. Please take a minute to send in your prayer needs by early Monday mornings for inclusion in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Thank you to Darla Smith for writing and Marcia Kreps for sharing Darla's uplifting words with us.

"I will sing of God’s goodness and mercy to us! I pray you are all doing well this week. The colors of the trees that God is painting for us have been spectacular. God’s blessings are sure even during any storm we may be facing. God has already been there."

My word for this week is “CHANGE.” This year there has been a lot of change for all of us. Change for the good and not so good. It is how we adapt to the CHANGE that makes the difference. When we were required to CHANGE the way in which we had church services – we met outside, and it was wonderful! Maybe we had to CHANGE the way we conducted our work schedules, whether we adjusted from home or not. There was CHANGE in the way our kiddos had to do their schooling. This year has certainly been a year of CHANGE. Maybe this good CHANGE of more family time... more good time to CHANGE and focus on God and prayer time...CHANGE and think of others before us. I am thankful for some of the CHANGE that has happened in my life. God has used me through CHANGE to reach out to all of you. I am truly humbled and blessed! I have wonderful news for all of us that we have heard before but maybe just need to be reminded - God NEVER CHANGES!!!! His love for us never CHANGES. His Word never CHANGES. He is our one constant in an ever-changing world. Have a blessed rest of the week! Until next week."

“For I am the Lord, I do not change... ~ Malachi 3:6 (NKJV)

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. ~ James 1:17 (NLT)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. ~ Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)
