Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"God is so good! He loves us so much! If we could all grasp hold of that everyday when we wake up. Thankful and grateful is how I pray all our days are."

"My word for this week is “PLAN.” What is the plan for our lives? What plans have we made that maybe have not turned out the way we had hoped? I had said that to our Pastor this past week. Sometimes the best laid plans……. just do not work out. God has a great “plan” for each of us. His “plan” for us is so wonderful – better than we can ever dream. When our “plan” does not go as planned it sometimes sets us back for a while. We need to push through and continue toward the “plan” God has set for us. Every week I “plan” on sticking to my healthier eating habits – maybe get exercise in and try to lose some weight. Some weeks are better than others sticking to the “plan.” Just like building a home, there is usually a “plan” that sometimes needs tweaked to accomplish the finished product. Remember the children’s game Chutes and Ladders? The “plan” is to make it to the finish line first. If you land on the right square, the “plan” goes well. If you land on the wrong square – you go down the chute farther back in your “plan.” I pray we all hold fast to the “plan” God has for each of us. I pray the Holy Spirit continues to reveal His “plan” to us. Stay steadfast – stay encouraged – stay focused – stay grounded in God. He has the perfect “plan” for us all! It will be even sweeter than we imagine. I pray God’s richest blessing for you."

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

People can make all kinds of plans, but only the Lord’s plan will happen. ~ Proverbs 19:21 (NCV)

Volunteer Weeders Always Welcome

Want to play in the soil and enjoy nature? Then we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Stop out anytime to pull some weeds and enjoy a stroll through our grounds. There are tools in the bench under the front awning, with buckets and (sometimes) a wheelbarrow near by. Drop your weeds in the buckets or wheelbarrow and then leave them under the awning for GG to take care of, or if Rachel is here, she can show you where our weed pile is located. There are areas all around the property where you can enjoy some good old-fashioned weeding time. Feel free to contact Rachel or stop by M-F between 8:30am-2pm and she will be glad to give you her famous tour of "Great Places for a Perfect Weeding Experience!"

News of the Week

The rainy weather this week hasn't stopped our crew from accomplishing all sorts of tasks! Work has been done out front, the butterfly garden has been planted, and we have been very busy in the greenhouses...including doing some demo, which we love to do! It might be wet and gray outside, but we still find the fun in working together.

We are tickled pink to announce that Cameron Fortune, one of our favorite GG interns, has returned for the summer. Welcome home, Cam!!

Our other big news is that our CSA program for this 2021 season is sold out. Woohoo! This may be the earliest we have ever closed subscription sales. We have thirteen wonderful CSA subscribers and we are very grateful for each one of them. We are looking forward to a bountiful harvest. Please keep GG and our crops in your prayers throughout this growing season. Thank you!

Come visit the GG table at the Youngstown Flea this Saturday. Kitty will be there with Jungle Jam, Juicy Jam, and organic catnip toys.

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
