A little healthy anticipation

Hi there,

I've really been looking forward to the warmer weather. This spring has been a long time coming, but I think it's finally here. I have been anticipating it so long, looking for tiny buds on trees as I pulled my coat tight around my neck, and I got thinking about the balance between anticipation and mindfulness.
Mindfulness, the practice of living in the moment, is obviously a good thing, I mean, we shouldn't borrow stress about the future, or ruminate on past mistakes or unhappinesses. When we are mindful we appreciate the here and now - enjoy our current experience rather than taking it for granted and looking only to the next thrill. But what about anticipation? Anticipation is kind of the opposite of living in the moment, isn't it. I think that's okay too. There's no harm in looking forward to something nice. In fact, I think it's essential--especially if the moment you're living in is kinda rotten. Anticipation of a continue reading

Cowl Shell

Cowl Shell Knitalong

Melissa of the Flying Feathers fame is back for a new spring knitalong of the Cowl Shell. This is a beautiful and timeless sweater that flatters a the feminine form and takes advantage of the kinds of yarns we love for warmer weather.

Worked in the round up to the armholes, with a lovely draping neckline created by German short rows, this is a quick project and a fun knit. I can see this becoming a wardrobe staple to wear under a jacket for work or on its own. Might need on in every color. We're using Rustic Silk, a lightweight silk yarn with beautiful tonal colors.
Join Melissa Saturdays starting April 27th at 2 pm

I've always wanted to do a trip like this -- it's going to be amazing! We'll have beautiful sights, delicious food, and legendary wine. If you are thinking of signing up, there is still space.
