Happy Saturday!

Phase 2 of Idaho's Stages of Re-Opening begins TODAY. I had a lovely hike out Adam's Gulch this morning (photo above) and as I drove back thru town it was so nice to see stores with their doors open and people out and about in town.

I had several calls this week from people asking me what it's like in Sun Valley right now. Many are starting to make summer plans and wondering whether to come and if so, what to expect when they arrive.

I have mentioned this in past emails, but I have to say that if we have to go through a nationwide lockdown I sure am glad I live in a beautiful, active, rural community. Yes, our little valley was hit hard by the virus in early March and many people were sick. But probably because of this, most everyone here took the stay-at-home guidelines very seriously. For several weeks there were literally no cars on the street and no-one in town. Atkinsons market started doing home deliveries so even their parking lot was empty.

Volunteers came out in droves to support our health-care workers, feed those who were hungry and deliver food to those who didn't feel they could go out.

Our hospital made advanced plans to accommodate those sick with the virus and was never overwhelmed. We had testing when it was needed and PPE (and even donated ski goggles) for health-care workers.

Now that businesses are opening back up again there are more people on the streets and in town. But people are being very respectful. Most everyone is wearing a mask and following health guidelines. We are social distancing.

There will be no big events, conferences or concerts here for most of the summer. But we still have all of the things that make our town so fantastic. We have beautiful mountains to climb, rivers to run, trails to hike and gravel roads to bike.

Our trails are open. Campgrounds will open June 1. Oh and the wildflowers are staring to bloom.

We miss you and want you to come back. We hope that when and if you come, you will live like a local and be respectful of the people around you. Be patient with us. Know we are all trying our best to get to a new level of normalcy. We have seen a flattening of new cases of COVID19 and hope it stays that way.

Rob, Shannon and I are quite busy selling real estate. There is still huge demand and low inventory. We are adapting safety protocols for those who want to see properties in person and working to have more photographs and virtual tours online for those who don't.

We are hosting a weekly call with other real estate brokers in Sun Valley to brainstorm how we can work together in new ways. We are also facilitating a weekly zoom get-together with local business owners to find out who is open, who needs help, and keep us all up to date on economic changes facing Blaine County.

We will try to keep you updated as we learn more. But know you can always reach out to any one of us directly if you have questions.

Client Feedback

Katherine was great to work with. Buying property is like building a home, you don't do it every day. The process of investing in property for and office or a new home can feel overwhelming and come with a roller coaster of emotions. Katherine made the process feel natural and exciting. I had some special requests and she pushed them though seamlessly. The process almost felt too easy which is exactly what I wanted. No pressure just professional guidance
