Last week in kick-ass actions:

Next issue, we'll reportback in depth on all the infrastructure campaigns we're focused on. Right now, here's a quick roundup of recent important news: Just last night, at a packed community meeting, the City Council of Long Beach announced a letter they have written to Governor Cuomo, asking him to veto Port Ambrose LNG! FERC issued conditional approval of the Constitution pipeline and the company immediately began sending threatening letters to landowners. STP and Pace Law immediately responded with a cease and desist letter! Resistance to Cove Point's LNG export facility continued with another action at the site last Tuesday! The New Paltz Climate Action Coalition demonstrated Wednesday against the Pilgrim oil pipeline and even more towns in NY and NJ have passed resolutions against it!
And here's what's happening this week:

Tuesday, Dec. 9th @ 8pm: Sandra on the Radio

Wednesday, Dec. 10th, 4-6pm: Climate Justice Vigil

Climate change is the greatest threat to basic human rights: food security, access to water, employment, housing, public health and the right to live in dignity. On International Human Rights Day, coinciding with the UN meeting in Lima that is part of the negotiations for a global climate treaty, we will gather to demand that world governments address the serious threat global warming poses to human rights, especially to the most vulnerable communities. Special guest speaker and musical performance by Xiuhtezcatl Roske-Martinez, the 13-year-old indigenous environmental activist. Please wear green wrist bands in solidarity with his Silence Strike. Please bring flameless (battery-operated) candles, flashlights or iphones and dress warmly. Organized by 350NYC, co-sponsored by Sane Energy Project and dozens of other groups. More info here. Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, E. 47th St. and First Avenue.

Saturday, Dec. 13th @ 2pm: MARCH.

WE MARCH. TOGETHER. AS ONE. Why are the Eric Garner and Michael Brown killings and ongoing brutality a matter of concern for climate activists? Dierdre Smith of 350 wrote, Why the Climate Movement Must Stand with Ferguson as one answer. Our friends, Martha Cameron and Gary Goff, from the Climate Action Committee of Brooklyn For Peace, put it this way: "The same system that regards black lives as expendable is the system that values profit over clean water, clean air, and the existential threat of climate change. There can be no climate justice in a system based on racism. These police murders must stop, and the only thing that's going to stop them is people of all ages, colors, and creeds getting out in the streets and demanding an end to them." Please join this peaceful march leaving from Washington Square Park.
