Happy Mother's Day! This past week, I joined several other bloggers for LEGO Week, hosted by Toddler Approved! It was a total blast. We even designated Thursday of this past week as LEGO day. We did lots of experiments with LEGO bricks. So fun!

Today, I'm showcasing our new LEGO posts and sharing the latest free ABC Printable Pack from Learning the Alphabet.

DUPLO Match-a-Rhyme Game - This Reading Mama

The first LEGO activity we did and posted was our DUPLO Rhyming Word Matching Game. My tot had a ball with this, as she LOVES to rhyme. I also like that it included some fine motor as she connected the rhyming words together. This activity also includes all the rhyming pictures you see in a free pack!

LEGO Handwriting Mats - Read - Build the Shape - Write - This Reading Mama

The second activity we did this week, LEGO Handwriting Mats, has got to be one of my top 5 activities I've ever done with my kids and posted on the blog. Seriously. My preschooler and Kindergartner REALLY enjoyed these this week. And I've already seen an improvement in handwriting! Woohoo!

In this pack, you'll find handwriting mats for DUPLO and LEGO bricks plus beginning sight words for the "Read" section...or you can write your own sight words. {The original idea for Read It!, Build It!, Write It! mats came from my friend Jolanthe, of Homeschool Creations. I just tweaked them for some LEGO fun!}

Word Problem Vocabulary Sorts - FREE Vocabulary Pack

Our third post of the week might be a bit of a stretch to call it a LEGO activity, but we did use our LEGO bricks, although you certainly don't have to. I created a word problem vocabulary sort including some key words kids need to pay attention to to help them know whether to add, subtract, multiply or divide. I also have some fantastic problem solving books that I've used over the years included in the post!

DUPLO Beginning Letter Sound Matching - This Reading Mama

Our fourth and final LEGO activity from this past week was our DUPLO Beginning Letter Sound Matching Game. Similar to the rhyming word matching, kids match up letters to pictures starting with each particular letter. And again, there is a free printable with all the letters and pictures included.
