Ladies Spring Event
Ladies, have you heard? We are having a “spring” event! There are ladies in our life that are amazing! You are amazing! We don’t always get the opportunity to spend enough time with them. If you are available April 27, from 9:00 - noon, we think it will be a wonderful time getting to know the women of St. Mark!

Join with other women of all ages to celebrate spring, after this long winter! Activities will include a speaker, time for relationship building, fun, fellowship and a tasty brunch. There will even be something to “make and take!”

If you haven't signed up, please email Melinda Alekna at melinda@stmarklc.com or call 815-871-0390 by April 20.

Childcare will be available if needed.

Suggested donation of $5 at the event.

Easter Bonnet

An Easter bonnet is any new or fancy hat worn as a Christian headcovering on Easter, by tradition. It represents the tail-end of a tradition of wearing new clothes at Easter, in harmony with the renewal of the year and the promise of spiritual renewal and redemption.

Don't forget to wear your Easter Bonnet on Sunday!

Volunteers will assist clients with soap and quarters and have plenty of time to talk with those who are there. It is truly a rewarding experience. The Outreach Committee is asking members to donate new socks during Lent. The Rockford Public Schools identified the need for socks for the children. Shop all sizes, all colors, and load up the Red Truck in Fellowship Hall! Thanks for your help with this project.

Rock House Kids has begun a new program to help provide funds for their program serving inner city kids. It is called Angels of Love. You have the opportunity to sponsor one or more children at $43.50 per child per month. The money helps to cover expenses of take home food bags and the curriculum provided for each child. If you are interested in finding out more about the program, call Rock House Kids at 815-962-5067.

St. Mark's outreach committee sponsors one evening meal for the children each month. Some 125 or more children are served each time. Thank you to those who have prepared meals in the past. If you would like to help with preparing a meal in the future contact John or Beth Johnson at 815-332-4570.
