MERIDIAN GALLERY EXHIBITION & BOOK RELEASE:
Thanks to everyone who attended the May 21, 2014 book release celebration and curated exhibition of forty-five paintings and drawings from Peoplescapes -- My Story From Purging To Painting. It was a warm, exciting and entertaining evening. Nancy Calef delivered a witty and powerful reading, hoping to help others with her message of resilience and creativity.
Edward Guthmann's story about Peoplescapes and Nancy was featured in The San Francisco Chronicle.
"I was contacted by Dr. Deborah Brenner-Liss of the Association Of Professionals Treating Eating Disorders and invited to their June 7, 2014 conference and fund-raiser, and to be a future speaker. I met many therapists in attendance treating eating disorders, and the Directors of facilities in Chicago, Arizona and the Bay Area. It was enlightening to find that their methods in dealing with trauma, however highly developed, clinically detailed and monitored, are similar to the tools I mustered with little therapeutic guidance. The specialists stressed discipline, repetition, creative expression, self awareness and yoga. " Nancy Calef
