We have exciting news to report regarding the Parent and Family Engagement: Exploring Strategies in Systems and Program Services training, July 24-26th in New Orleans!

Day three will now include a panel/roundtable discussion covering partnership and implementation of initiatives with child passenger safety technicians, organizations, and communities throughout the nation.

Attendees will be able to engage with child passenger safety leaders to discuss how to implement programs in their communities!

We are excited to have several important speakers on the panel, including Bridget Gardner, RN, Coordinator of the Community Injury Prevention Program at UMC New Orleans and Program Director of the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force; and Patricia Clesi, Louisiana Regional Coordinator of Child Passenger Safety.

This interactive two and a half-day training will allow participants opportunities to put theory and knowledge into simulated practice through many experiential activities, positive feedback, small and large group activities, as well as reflection and planning time. Parent and Family Engagement: Exploring Strategies in Systems and Program Services will address specific areas that can be woven into the Parent Committee, the family partnership agreement process, and other areas of the program. This Institute will offer strategies on enhancing key areas that engage parents and promote partnerships such as parent Orientations, the Parent Committee, application/enrollment time, and home-visits/first meeting.
