That's A Wrap On Summer 2018!

P1130530

From the PW Staff and CITs, "THANKS!"

This summer was a wonderful one!

With 7 weeks of fun, over 400 campers, and thousands of memories created, how can we possibly describe the magic, wonder and joy that was the summer of 2018? Stay tuned to our social media - (Facebook) and (Instagram), and our (Blog), for more, but for now, here are some highlights!

▪ Welcoming our staff into the extraordinary world during staff training
▪ Board games with new and returning families in the Longhouse during family camp
▪ Campers building their own superheros during our "Superhero Conference" week
▪ Deck the Hume's Hall! A mid-summer Christmas party during Jr. Sports and Arts
▪ Wilderness canoe trips, both in and out of the rain!
▪ Twinkle light & glow stick parties and vespers
▪ Peter Katz's "The Camp Song" ringing through the trees at the end of every week
▪ Campers creating their own sessions like Stilt Training and Epic Fort Building
▪ Bill "Brother Bill" Stevens joining our staff team and claiming the John Deere tractor as his "office". The grass looked so good all year! (Thanks to Flash and Matt, too!)
▪ Every camper leaving camp with their very own Pearce Williams tie dye shirt
▪ Campers learning about Standing Firm, God's Love and playing "JESUS FACTS!" during Chapel
▪ The overwhelming support of our camp community and volunteers stepping up to support Pearce Williams with our Fire Safety Campaign (see below!)
▪ Our World Camp doubling in size from 2017. It was sold out this year!
▪ The St. John Ambulance therepy dogs and ambulance tours during Primary and Leadership Camp and Family Camp Project
▪ A Wilderness Spa during Girls Wilderness Week
▪ An incredible team of Staff, CITs and future camp leaders making the PW future bright
▪ An awesome end of summer Barnfest (in Humes Hall!) followed by the annual "Cry Fest" - an emotional goodbye to the summer
▪ 100% of our parent surveys saying that their kids had fun, felt included and want to return to Pearce Williams in 2019!

Fire Safety Campaign - Update

P1130347

Thanks to all of the camp families for their support!

An update on our fire-safety plan upgrades.

If you haven't heard about our fire order upgrades and urgent appeal, click here to learn more.

Since we released details about our appeal in late June, the Pearce Williams community has stepped up to the plate.

As of right now, we have raised over $160,000!l.

That is incredible! We have so many people to thank for their generosity. Thank you to everyone who donated, spread the word or sent your prayers over the last few months.

All that being said, part of that $160,000 was a very generous donation that included a call to push the campaign to our maximum goal of $250,000 to finish the Barn and have it able for use for program in the 2019 season.

Let's make it happen!

Camper & Staff Recognition Program

Karl and his 28 year plaque! Click the picture to find out more!

Pearce Williams has a long and rich history. As the years go on, we're blessed to have 2nd, 3rd and even 4th generation campers join us year after year as campers, staff and volunteers.

To celebrate their commitment, we use tree cookies and plaques!

Every year someone returns to attend a week of camp or commits to at least 5 days of service, it counts towards their "years at camp".

Starting at 2 years, people receive one tree-cookie per year. Every 5 years, you get a BIG cookie. At 10 years, we will cut out your name, paint it, and mount your tree cookies to a board (from the old barn while the supplies remain!)...
