The Interational Year of Glass & The Permanent Mission of Spain Present
WILDFIRE

December 5-31, 2022

The International Year of Glass 2022 honors the artist, Natalie Tyler’s compelling sculpture, WildFire, which is currently being exhibited at the United Nations in New York City as part of the closing events of the International Year of Glass 2022. The sculpture evokes the impact of climate change on the environment. It depicts a burning tree that is engulfed in flames. The flames, cast in glass, light up as the sun passes through them and the sculpture illuminates to look like it is on fire. WildFire embodies change and inspires a collective consciousness to move in the direction of a healthy planet.

“Art has the power to transcend language and cultural barriers and communicate in a way that can unify us. " - Natalie Tyler
