A Note From Mr. Sandefur

Lion Family,

I hope that you are having a wonderful week. This week I had the opportunity to represent TKA at the Tennessee Baptist Convention and am happy to relay that there are a lot of impressive things occurring within Baptist life in the state of Tennessee. TKA is blessed to be an educational entity of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board as we serve those in our community and the world. For those who do not fully understand the TBMB, it serves as an umbrella for Baptist churches throughout our state and supports the following entities: Union University, Carson Newman University, TN Baptist Adult Homes, TN Baptist Children’s Homes, TN Baptist Foundation, and Baptist Hospital (Memphis). As an entity of the TBMB, TKA is blessed to work with a network of churches to meet the needs of our domestic and international students.

This week’s convention has been a chance for us to have new trustees elected, receive funding, and build relationships throughout our state. I am personally thankful for the impact that TKA is having on our state and for the role that the TBMB plays in our ability to do so.

As we enter into this time of thanksgiving, I ask that you join me in expressing gratitude to all those who support the ministry of TKA. I am especially grateful for each and everyone of our families who partner with us daily to develop servant leaders who will change the world for Christ.

Hat Day

This Friday, November 19, the Jr. Beta students are sponsoring a hat day to benefit the Isaiah 117 House. Students can bring $1.00 and and hat to participate in hat day!

SGA Thanksgiving Baskets

SGA is partnering with our TKA families to distribute Thanksgiving baskets for those in need. If you would like to help, you can pick up a list in the school offices or click here to download the list of needed items. Items need to be returned by Monday the 22nd. Due to a limited number of baskets, when returning items from the list, please be sure the items are returned together and placed in a bag.

Tennessee Baptist Convention 2021 Summit

This week Mr. Sandefur, Ms. Mink, Mr. Cartee, and Ms. Campbell represented TKA at the Tennessee Baptist Convention Summit. During their time, they were able to tell others about the wonderful things the Lord is doing at TKA.

Elementary Christmas Program

Our elementary Christmas program will take place on Thursday, December 9, in Tibbetts. We are looking forward to celebrating the Christmas season with our loved ones through this program.

Love Gala

Save the date for the first annual Love Gala hosted by The King's Academy. The Love Gala will be on February 12, 2022, at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN. Plan on joining us for a night of fellowship, an exciting auction with great items, and a time to honor our alumni, teachers, and those who have left a legacy at TKA.

Each ticket purchased for the event will have an opportunity to win FREE tuition for one student for the 2022-23 academic year. Additional tuition remission opportunity tickets are available for purchase at the door for $25 per opportunity. All opportunity drawing tickets are Non-Transferable. Only the student drawn is eligible for tuition remission. Must be present to receive tuition remission.

Covid-19 Procedures

While we are excited to offer in-person education, we must maintain a safe learning environment for all students, faculty/staff, and additional stakeholders.

To do so, we will be working closely with the Sevier County Health Department regarding Covid-19 protocols.
