Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"God is so good. We have been having spectacular weather here in Ohio. I pray where you are is just as great. Every day I pray I see God’s glory in all the little things. He loves us so much!"

"My Word for this week is “HIDE.” Have you ever felt like you wanted to pull your covers up over your head and “hide?” I did on Sunday morning getting ready for church – was having myself a good pity party. But I pulled it together and went to worship and God blessed me with a soaking of His Presence. Lesson learned for me. We cannot “hide” from God. Sometimes we try. We sometimes try to “hide” our feelings or emotions from others to appear to be strong. Well, sometimes we just are not strong. Sometimes we want to “hide” from everything. We think we will feel better that way. Here's a clue - we do not feel better. Often, we may feel worse. I pray this week that the Holy Spirit saturates in a way that nothing can “hide” from Him. Let us be open to Him and what He wants to do for us. In His Presence is fullness of Joy! Let us not “hide” from that – let us be open to ALL He has for us. Give it ALL to Him – do not “hide.” I pray God will open our hearts and minds to see His gems He has in store for us. I pray we are open to what God has for each of us!"

God’s my island hideaway, keeps danger far from the shore, throws garlands of
hosannas around my neck.
~ Psalm 32:7 (MSG)

Heading to WV.

Our old stove has left the building and moved on to a new life at a very inspiring ministry in West Virginia! The Breeden Church of God, located deep in the mountains of Mingo County, runs a food pantry and kitchen, serving over 100 families monthly! Check out their letter and info at the front desk to learn about this hard-working group.

Please remember, if you are interested in being able to use our new stove, we must show you the special "tricks" to operating it! For safety reasons, you will need to get a quick stove lesson from Rachel Vignon before the stove can be put to work. Please let Jen Lynch or Rachel know if you are interested in being a stove user and we will set up a lesson.

News of the Week

It's strawberry season! What a wonderful time of year! Our folks have been busy harvesting juicy, delicious, home grown strawberries. Since it is too early to put them in CSA shares, these berries will be turned into some of our special jams.

While harvesting strawberries did take up a big chunk of our time this week, other things were also accomplished. We made jam. We planted in the bed behind the Sanctuary, out in the back garden area, and out front in the raised beds. We picked some onions and garlic and, of course, we weeded. We also took time to enjoy the woods and to inspect some trails to see what needs cleared again.

Next week Canfield Presbyterian Church will be bringing some of their youth here for a mission trip day. After all these months of not being able to have mission groups here, we are beyond excited to welcome our friends from CPC back as our first group!

Pruners/Clippers Needed

Our mission group next week will be helping us to clear some trails in the woods. We do not have enough clippers and pruners for everyone. Do you have any at home, good for cutting up branches and brush, that we could borrow? If you do - GREAT! Please put your name on it and leave it at the front desk on Sunday. We will take good care of these tools and will have them back at the desk, ready for pick-up, the following Sunday. Thank you!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
