Last week our Senior Education Improvement Leader (SEIL) Stuart Andrews came and visited MVPS for our midyear Annual Implementation Plan review. Ms Gould and I shared all the learning that has been happening this year and celebrated the gains that our students are making as well as the work our teachers have been doing to build their capacity. We went on Learning Walks into each grade while students and teachers were emersed in their math lessons. Stuart was very impressed to see students engaged and how our teachers had differentiated the learning. Well done to our teachers and students!
Curriculum Day- OzLit Professional Learning
Our teachers took part in a full day of professional learning on the 6+1 Traits of writing with Riss Leung. Here is what some of our teachers thought of the day -
Miss Crothers - “I really enjoyed how she modelled mentor texts and showed us the traits in action.”
Ms Pollard - “I like how she gave us ideas to refine our current practice with simple changes. She helped us understand how to link the curriculum with the traits to create simple goals to cater for a variety of learners.”
