Hello, Stitching Friends!

How are you feeling? If your like me you are perhaps feeling a little confused and if I am being honest a little frightened with everything thats happening in the world at the moment, I am sure its a very understandable feeling. We can do this by keeping in touch and caring for others who might need some help.
I feel very lucky that I have a passion for something that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere and its a passion which can be enjoyed when I am at home. Its a passion which with the wonderful world of the internet can keep me connected with so many of you anytime and any day - we are truly a lucky community.

Green Thumb - a mini quilt

I am not a great 'outdoors' person but I really like a pretty garden. Not being fond of dirty hands the best type of gardening for me is the sort created with needle and thread!
My Green Thumb quilt has five little cameo scenes showcasing my embroidered garden. Birdhouses, a garden gnome, a pretty garden gate, a beehive and some sunflowers.

What I am Sewing

I'm busy working on a project although I am not exactly sure if my idea will work out I am enjoying the planning, cutting and sewing - I am using a 'Dancing In The Blossom' charm pack and some of my yarn dyed wovens and a 2" half hexagon acrylic template

Garden Gnome Needlecase

I seem to be having a garden theme for this newsletter!!!

My Garden Gnome Needlecase is an all time favourite, we have recently made anew sample using fabrics from my 'Dancing In The Blossom' fabric collection and its turned out gorgeous.

Thread Cutterz

I love my thread cutter ring: I wear mine on my thumb when I am doing English Paper Piecing and hand piecing, I find it speeds my sewing up considerably as there is no need to keep stopping to pick up/put down my scissors. The ring cutter has a velcro adjustable strap which is soft and comfortable to wear - you might find your wearing yours when you go to do the washing up as its so comfortable!

The new Zipper Pull thread cutter is also brilliant, slightly better design on the blade as its ceramic. It cuts embroidery threads nicely - I keep mine on my sewing bag as at the moment its too warm here to were anything but a t-shirt!
