Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"We have been having spectacular weather here in Ohio but would like a little rain to fill our rain barrel back up. The plants and flowers are thirsty. God knows what we need before we ask. He is so good to us. Summer is quickly approaching. The older I get the faster it comes."

"Our Word for this week is “ENGAGE.” “Engage” means to move forward, participate, or become involved in. The more God laid this on my heart, the more excited I was. My original thought was things working together. Like the jet engine picture above. To make the plane lift off the ground, ALL the parts must “engage” with each other. Then I thought about Star Trek. (Yes, I love it!) Captain Jean Luc Piccard says, "Enterprise, engage!” meaning to move forward. I pray Holy Spirit, “engage” us with You so we can “engage” with others. When we “engage” with others through our witness and testimony, the Holy Spirit is at work. Imagine the impact we can have on the world if we will “engage.” Let us move in His Power – “engage.” Holy Spirit, get our hearts and minds right to “engage” with others like Jesus wants us to in His love. He has called us and equipped us – now Jesus is calling us to “engage” and we will help others to “engage.” Let us all work together and “engage” with each other through God’s love and our encouragement. Have a blessed week!"

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
~ Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)

Summer Devotionals

The June/July/August edition of Our Daily Bread has arrived. Pick one up from the round table in the Great Room. Take an extra copy to share with a friend!

Our Stove Has Arrived

We are glad to announce that we have a stove back inside the church. Two Zabel's employees are our new heroes after being the wonderful men that brought it on Tuesday. We couldn't have had better customer service and we are very grateful that such hard workers are on the job! Once the safety checks are all complete, we will let you know when the stove is ready for use. Goodness Grows is extra excited to finally get back to jam making...soon!

News of the Week

We started out the week with some clean up in the back greenhouses. We also set up the NFT system in the front greenhouse and lettuce is already merrily growing. Yay!

Tuesday and Wednesday were perfect days for planting in the fields and beds. We are very excited to get our peppers and tomatoes into the ground! Now we just need good growing conditions...and we need the cute woodland creatures to stay away from our crops. Feel free to take a walk through the gardens and fields to check out the progress and see goodness growing! (We wouldn't say "no" if you wanted to pull a few weeds while on your walk, either!)

Today we are planting the lower field. Pretty soon we will be finished planting and will focus on taking care of all the beautiful plants as we await time to harvest for CSA days. Sure feels like summer is here! After this busy week of planting, we will be glad to have Monday off to rest. We wish you all a safe Memorial Day weekend as we remember all those men and women who gave their all in serving our country..

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

you were doing it to me.
