Looking Ahead

Perpich ACE Dance Program Grant available in April

Perpich ACE Dance Program Grant will be available in early April, so start thinking about potential team members if your school is interested in applying. Arts Courses for Educators (ACE) are two-year programs that train teacher teams to integrate dance, media, or theater arts into their school curriculum. School teams from throughout Minnesota may apply for grants to support their school’s participation.

Teams may be school or district-based and consist of 3 - 4 teachers. A school administrator such as the Curriculum Coordinator may also be added to the team as a 5th member. The next Perpich ACE Dance program runs August 2013 - May 2015. Program information and school grant application will be posted on Perpich Center website and in the April Dance Educator.

Next K-12 Dance Educators' Retreat on May 10

After the successful launch of the first ever K-12 Dance Educators Retreat on February 8, participants asked for MORE, so mark your calendars for May 10, 9:00 A - 2:30, at North High School for the spring K-12 Educators Retreat.

In May, we will continue delving into February's convening question "How do race, class and ethnicity play out in my classroom?" as well as share questions and field-based expertise with each other. More Info about the May 10 Retreat will be the next Dance Educator and on K12 Dance Educators Retreat web page.
