Fertile Field

In the Field of Gold

This multi-award winning photograph by Ellen Jantzen, In the Field of Gold has received a first place award in fine art, a bronze medal and multiple honorable mentions during 2012. It is certainly an important image to consider as a special gift this season.

SSGiceberg0105 ANT pt2

The Wedge Iceberg, Antarctica

Although shot in 2005 in Antarctica, The Wedge Iceberg by Camille Seaman has just been released in the newest series, The Last Iceberg III. With Camille's most recent appointment as a 2013 TED Senior Fellow, and with her work published in both Oprah and Time magazine, there has been heightened interest in her work and sales have been soaring. Now's the right time to purchase Camille's environmentally sensitive work.

Guild Carolyn TempleOfTheMoon TheElementalEarth 2012

Temple of the Moon, Capital Reef Natural Park, Utah

For the lover of the traditional black and white photograph, my top pick this season is the multi-talented Carolyn Guild, whose award winning work continues to receive acclaim from B&W Magazine, Prix de la Photographie, and the International Photography Awards (IPA).
Carolyn's images clearly show us the beauty of our natural environment.

Bugaboo Mountains, British Columbia

OConnor Jeannie Cortona Italy 1995

Cortona, Italy

The talented Jeanne O'Connor has developed a process of integrating photography with drawing and painting by painting on the rear surface of film positives and placing a sheet of drawing paper beneath the film to which chalk pastel and collage elements are applied. The final two layer process has a 3 dimensional quality beyond that of a print on paper. The depth of Jeanne's images cannot really be appreciated unless seen in person!

Jeanne's most recent black & white work includes a series of photographs from the Oxford Museum of Natural History, which includes an image of the famous 'Dodo Bird'.

OConnor Jeannie Bad Bird Oxford 2012

Bad Bird, Oxford

For the Kids in the Family

Heaven forbid we forget the kids.....which of course, we will not do! There are so many great gift ideas to give the kids which will start them on their way to becoming a collector, including but not limited to work by Fran Forman, Deborah Parkin and Cara Barer.
