Dr. Cecilia Chi-Ham is Director of Science and Technology, PIPRA, at the University of California-Davis

I am a bass fisher woman - catch and release

What three words best describe you?
Focused, dedicated and persistent.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Family time! I like spending time with my husband, sibling and nieces and nephews. And running or hiking with my Labrador, Rusty. (And retail therapy.)

What are you currently working on?
A socio-economic study of the impact of GM corn in Honduras, my home country.

What are you most passionate about?
Using science for the good of humanity. Coming from a developing country, I have seen first-hand how food insecurity can lead to civil unrest. I am passionate about using science for food security, human health and environmental sustainability.
