Amputees on the run for the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run...

Two teams will be picked from the Irish Amputee soccer team to participate in the New Relay-Marathon on May 5th, where there will be four in a team. They have not yet picked the teams for the day as they still have a lot of training to do. They hope to break the Guinness Book of Records challenge in May, when they hope to become the fastest amputee relay team to complete a marathon on crutches, this would be an amazing accomplishment as it has never been done. Check out their Facebook page for more information and to support these guys!

Firstly I want to congratulate all of you that are taking part in the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run!!!

Wow! The numbers are growing every year which is fantastic. I think it is wonderful and exciting that more people are taking up running and getting fit and that THE BARRINGTONS HOSPITAL GREAT LIMERICK RUN has become a goal to aim for. So whatever level you compete at, good for you!! For certain, exercise is one key aspect in health that can’t be ignored and more and more I am seeing people taking responsibility for their health, making the changes that make the difference.

When starting out on a new training regime you can be vulnerable so take some good advice and do things correctly to avoid injury. You want to finish your training and be there on the day fit and ready to compete.
