Sunday is the Day! Martin will be at Sikome Lake at 8:30, will speak a little about his amazing cause and then we get to run with the Marathon Man! We will do a 3k loop around the Skiome lake area, then will set out east and North into Fish Creek Park.

How to take part:
- No running. Just come to meet Martin at 8:30 and hear about his Marathon Quest.
- Run 3k around the lake
- Run your distance on an out and back along our route
- Run the full 18k loop through east Fish Creek park, Douglasdale, the Ridge along Mackenzie Lake, and back to Sikome.
- OR, of you want, you can run the whole 42.2km route with Martin. If this is your choice, please email me and I will let you know the entire details of Martins Run.

To be able to run with Martin, in our home Park, is a real treat. Please come out and share this great experiance with us! Martin Just ran his 80th Marathon and our run will be his 84th! Amazing. Here is a link to the MapMyRun route of The Cool Kids Marathon.

Bring your whole family. If you want to donate to his cause before or after meeting Martin, here is a link to where you can go and pledge through the Cool Kids sponsorship page. Your donations over $25.00 get an automatic tax reciept and goes toward our findraising goal! Just click on join the team and follow along.

Running this week

CIMG0117a
Thursday 6:30pm from Cranston Good Earth Cafe, a 3k quick run. This is our weekly fitness test and it gives us our 4th run of the week (run more days than you don't, good advice I think)
Sunday 8:30am from the Sikome Lake parking lot to run with Martin Parnell (see above)
Tuesday 6:30pm from Cranston Good Earth Cafe. This is our easy run day and is by far the most social day to run with us. A great day to come out for the first time!
Wednesday 6:30pm from Sikome Lake. This is our Technical run day. We work on speed, strength and/or whatever is your plan for this week. It is on our 3ish k loop that allows us all to run whatever it is we are running, without getting too far away from each other.

Here is a link to the webpage that shows exactly how to get to our run locations.

Schedule Note: There is no Club run on Sunday May 24th, as it is the Long Weekend. If you are in town and planning on running, please email me and I will connect whoever is running. (this is a scheduled 20k run for the Calgary Half Group, and a 9k run for the Clagary 10k group) I personally will be running a 20k route in the Scenic Cypress Hills. On Tuesday May 26th We will meet as regulary scheduled, and are planning a race goal discussion, prior to the Calgary Run Weekend.

Inspirational Running Story

Not necessarily an inspirational running story, but a nice story about 2 good people who happen to be runners. Anthony and Shannon are the authors of Running Down. It's a very funny running blog from North Carolina that I follow. Anthony and Shannon were married last week in a great ceremony on the beach. What a strange and wonderful way to tie the knot! (nice shorts Anthony, my eyes are still burning) Have a read!

Also, Congrats to Cool Kid Erin, who was married last week in Sunny Costa Rica! (you coming running again?)

Tech Talk

Speaking of Costa Rica, how do you run when you are on vacation. Here is another great Journal I follow called Running Advice.com, that wrote a great 'discussion' about running on vacation (or not running). With summer approaching, how will you run?
