BOOK STORE AND BOUTIQUE

Shop, Donate, Volunteer

Going on our seventh month raising funds for abused, neglected and homeless animals, we have thousands of books and gently used items in our store.

It's all made possible through our great volunteers (please consider joining us), the generosity of the building owner and the community (keep those used items coming).

We've added a new feature in the back of the store. Talented volunteers built a few CAT ADOPTION APARTMENTS. That means you can purchase a comfy used chair, books and a lap cat.

Now that's a smart way to shop. Just think of all the gas you will save. Plus, you'll be helping the environment by recycling.

Stop in and visit. More info HERE

CALIFORNIA SPAY NEUTER LICENSE PLATE

Order Yours Today!!

Finally, what every California animal welfare professional has been talking about for at least a decade -- a proposal for a vehicle license plate that funds animal spay/neuter surgeries. But first, they need 7,500 pre-sold plates to make it official.

Your license plate purchase will help reduce the pet overpopulation burden by bringing funding to local animal shelters to offer free and low-cost spay/neuter programs to help individual pet owners.

A great holiday gift to yourself and a loved one.

PLACER COUNTY'S ZONING TEXT ORDINANCE CHANGE

Write a letter to the Placer County Board of Supervisors

OPPOSE: Poultry and Fowl Zoning Text Amendment - will change residential zoning to allow 6 chickens in urban, suburban and resort zones on lot sizes of 5,000 square feet or more in Placer County but ignores proper permitting to safeguard chickens. The County's current regulations allows raising agricultural/farm animals for consumption (i.e., hens/chickens) but only in areas where zoning allows such activities.
Don't let Placer County amend the zoning ordinance without providing for the humane treatment of these animals and addressing the impact on wildlife.

Write to the County Supervisors and ask them to send this proposal back to the drawing board until a fully vetted comprehensive program has been created that addresses citizen concerns AND the animals.
