September 2010 News - I'm a One-Man Band

One of the tricks of being a "one-man band" -- that is, someone who writes, designs, and does art -- is finding the time to do all the stuff I want to do. (Or need to do!) Some weeks, the art impulse takes over my brain, and I do covers. Other weeks, the Muse is upon me, and I write like mad. Sometimes, I'm working on an anthology (new Blue Kingdoms antho coming soon!), and I edit.

This past month, I've spent most of my time rewriting, which is one of the keys to actually getting stories into your hands (the step right before final editing and publishing). "Monster Shark" got finished this month, and "Crimson & Dragons," "Ares Zone-A," and Snowraven are nearly finished. Some of them might even come out before the end of September, and all should be out before the next newsletter arrives. (I hope!)

So, keep your eyes peeled, and follow me on Facebook & Twitter to get the breaking news. And don't forget to check below for more news and your money-saving coupons!

Monster Shark is Here!

... The megalodon came at her from below, jaws gaping. Though it could swallow her whole, Umira doubted the beast would do her that favor....

"Monster Shark" is a thrilling undersea sword & sorcery adventure packed with magic, monsters, grisly deaths, and -- of course -- ravening sharks. It features Umira the Accursed from The Tournament of Death, Stephen D. Sullivan's FREE online novel.

That's the skinny from my "Monster Shark" listing on Smashwords. My Kindle listing has a bit more detail. But whether you're buying Kindle stories or some other e-book format, "Monster Shark" is guaranteed to have the thrills you're fishing for!

Several lucky reviewers got an advance copy of "Monster Shark" this last month. Will your next review earn you a free story?

Crimson & Dragons Is On the Way!

The wait is almost over! The story you've been craving, "Crimson & Dragons," is in the final stages of editing. The cover is done, and if you've been paying attention, you've already gotten your FREE wallpaper. The story itself should be up online by the end of September.

What would you do if you woke up naked and chained to a dungeon wall? I don't know what I'd do, but I know that, after waking up in just that situation, Crimson intends to kick some ass.

("Crimson & Dragons" contains strong language and adult situations.)

Announcing Smashwords E-Books!

When I started putting things up on Amazon for Kindle, people started asking me when I'd have the stories available for other e-book formats. Well, that day is here! Near the end of September I started putting up my books on Smashwords. Smashwords is a company that sells e-books across all currently available e-publishing platforms.

So, if you've been waiting for my work to become available for your Palm, Sony, Nook, or other reader, you don't have to wait any longer! You can get Kindle books on Smashwords, too, and, occasionally (like, if you keep reading, below), I might even offer a discount coupon.

Of course, my e-books are still available on Amazon, along with my print work. So, whatever your preferred format, I've got you covered! Enjoy!

A few of the available stories are pictured below.

Free Stories Still Available

My "write a review, get a free story" policy continues -- and some folks are building up quite a free story collection! So, if you've posted something on your blog, or Facebook, or Amazon (or elsewhere), let me know. You can contact me through those services, my website, or just write to fanmail@stephendsullivan.com.

For your efforts, I'll send you a free story in PDF, or a format you prefer. I'll even try to send something you haven't seen before. And, those who put up reviews are also likely to get a first look at my new stuff (like my upcoming Snowraven story , or Dungeons & Dinosaurs, or even "Crimson & Dragons"). Such a deal! So, what are you waiting for? Hit your keyboards!!

Still Coming Soon! (The first two are nearly out! Promise!)
