God's Glory - Our Response: An Advent Retreat

broch for web

What is the purpose and meaning of Christian worship?

It is not too late to join us - this Saturday (10 am - 4 pm) as we gather to consider such questions as:

What is true worship and what makes worship "good?"
How does God's revelation affect our worship?
Should worship reflect a "theology of glory" or a "theology of the Cross?"
How can the message of the Reformers instruction instruct our worship?

The Retreat will begin in the sanctuary at 10 am with Holy Communion.

Lunch is provided. Click here for more information.

Bishop Nicholas of Myra

Behind the popular legend of "Santa Clause" lies a real historical figure - Nicholas who was born during the third century in the village of Patara (this is now the southern coast of Turkey). His wealthy parents, who raised him to be a devout Christian, died in an epidemic while Nicholas was still young. Obeying Jesus' words to "sell what you own and give the money to the poor," Nicholas used his whole inheritance to assist the needy, the sick, and the suffering. He dedicated his life to serving God and was made Bishop of Myra while still a young man.

Youth Event - Report

IMG 0205

This past Saturday, Fr. and Sara Patterson took a group of our Jr. High students to Grace Church (Collingdale) to help with their weekly food pantry collection.

We picked up 3 car loads of donated bread and then joined a group of Jr. High students from Grace to sort the bread. What you see to the left is about 1/4 of all the bread sorted.

Then we all had a great time bowling at a nearby bowling alley. Stay tuned for more opportunities to join together with Grace Church for ministry (and fun).

And Please Remember: we are always collecting canned goods to be given to Grace's Food Pantry. The collection box is located in Cranmer Hall.
