NorCal High School Mountain Bike League Gets a Shorter Name and New Logo
"The NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing League" has officially changed its name to the "NorCal High School Cycling League". The logo has changed as well. We've been phasing this new name and logo in over the past two years, but now it's official! Having a longer name was often problematic and claimed 'cycling' in the new name because of our impact on the cycling world in general, not just the world of mountain biking. We're still a cross country mountain bike racing League! Contact email@example.com if you need a high resolution logo.
There's Still Time to Register for the Chileno Valley Cycling Classic (September 19, 2010)
The Chileno Valley Cycling Classic is taking place on September 19th and there are still some spots left, so we encourage you to sign up soon! This gorgeous 40 or 60 mile ride meanders through the backroads of Marin and Sonoma Counties and is capped by a fabulous party. Just for raising the minimum you'll receive a commemorative t-shirt, a post-ride massage, a gourmet meal and some quality swag from our generous sponsors! Click on the link to register and start your fundraising page today! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions about the event.
WFA Course is Full (August 21 & 22, 2010)
If your WFA certification is expiring this year, you will need to attend all 16 hours of Wilderness First Aid training to become re-certified. The August course in Marin is now full, but we will offer one more weekend course in January for those of you who need to re-up your licensure. Please contact email@example.com with questions and/or to find out when your certification expires.
Thank You NCNCA
The NorCal League is happy to announce that the NCNCA is continuing to support and sponsor the NorCal High School Cycling League. According to NCNCA Board President Bill Nicely, "The tremendous growth in numbers of the NorCal HS MTB League over the last few seasons has outpaced the growth of cycling in general. This shows that the program’s reputation for providing outstanding competitive opportunities is well received. We have seen growth in youth cycling in road racing and track disciplines that has some of its roots in this program. NCNCA is pleased to continue its long-standing support of the league." Thank you NCNCA!
