The CHN e-newsletter is our show of gratitude to the loyal market customers at our many events around the Central Coast. It will serve as a site for seasonal updates, "plant of the month" specials, the "ask a nurseryman" section, links to our partners, and a whole lot more. The e-newsletter is a way to stay connected with our thriving and knowledgeable garden community. Please send us your comments on how to make this e-newsletter more useful to all, and don't forget to pass along the link to a friend!

Happy Planting,
Nathan Krupa (owner/grower)

MONTHLY BULLETIN

Customer Appreciation Days

In an effort to thank our valued market clients for their continued support of Crescent Hill Nursery, we would like to announce Customer Appreciation Days. During the month of December, all Crescent Hill grown stock will be discounted at the remaining market events on our calendar. Most one gallon containers will be sold for $5 each and five gallons will sell for $12-15 depending on variety!! Furthermore, if you already know the benefits of fall planting and would like to drop-in to plan a winter garden, an additional 10% discount will be given on orders over $100. Orders over $300 will be offered at wholesale list price!!

As our long time customers know, the annual December sale is our yearly forum for discussing the trials and tribulations of the gardening year. This lighthearted reflective conversation has always yielded one of the more entertaining events on our calendar, with the goal being to jumpstart the holidays and inject a little fun, friendship, and cheer. As always we are extremely excited for the market, especially with the addition of holiday wreaths this year. So bring your garden success stories, war stories, jokes, and Santa wish lists and join us this Saturday at De Anza College to start the holiday season off right!! Please see our website at the below link to view events or set up a personal tour. www.crescenthillnursery.com
Thanks again for a great gardening year in 2011. Your support inspires our business to grow!!

Garden Tour 2011
Thanks are in order for all of you who participated in Crescent Hill Garden Tour 2011. We wholeheartedly appreciate the hospitality and opening of your homes to show off your garden masterpieces. It was remarkable to see our plants in the ground and their myriad of expressions in varying Central Coast microclimates. A truly educational experience and one which will help us give more complete cultural plant description to future customers. All the gardens were special in their own way, and some were astonishing examples of how rare and exotic plants can genuinely define a home space. In addition, it was great to have the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the Crescent Hill garden family, and get to know you a little more than the brief conversation window at busy markets permits. Thanks again for sacrificing valuable time to show us around!!
Look for a special Crescent Hill E-Newsletter section in 2012 which will chronicle our Garden Tour adventures.

Nursery tours are encouraged. Please come out and see our 2 acre facility in Watsonville. With over 250 varieties grown, the growing grounds are turning into a little botanical park. Please call for an appointment. Groups are welcome.

Please remember Crescent Hill recycles all 1,2, and 5 gallon plastic containers. Drop off available at all markets, or here at the nursery. Thanks again!!

PLANT OF THE MONTH

Holiday Wreaths

Every year at our annual December Sale market, we get asked the same question. "Why are you not making wreaths for the holiday season?" Well, this year the holiday cheer has taken hold in a big way, and Crescent Hill is proud to offer a wide selection of holiday wreaths as our December Plant of The Month. Now i am aware that a wreath is not exactly a plant, but the holiday spirit is one of forgiving and understanding, is it not? And the wreaths are made from plant material, albeit already cut. So this year the plant world's sacrifice of a few branches, berries, and cones is your gain!! Reflecting our heritage as a grower of rare and exotic stock, the wreaths are a true departure from the holiday norm. Santa and the elves have been out collecting material from a wide array of local plants, which seek to bring a new twist to this age old tradition. Redwood, Pine, Bay and Eucalyptus serve as our stunningly scented base material. Protea family Leucadendrons and Grevilleas add a long lasting touch of pizazz. Black leafed Peppermint tree (Agonis) adds a scented infusion of contrast color. And berries from Toyon (Hetreomeles sp.) and Firethorn (Pyracantha) serve as our exotic exclamation points. Let us not forget Rudolf's favorite, pine cones, which tie it all together. There is sure to be a wreath for every Central Coast door or table in this stocking full of goodies. Forget the cavity causing sweets, why not try a gift of a holiday wreath to bring warmth and seasonal scents to your loved ones homes. You will be remembered every time the door is opened.

Happy Holidays to all from Crescent Hill!!
