Upcoming Meetings

• JUNE 22-25 - CML ANNUAL CONFERENCE - Breckenridge

Our CAST session and annual meeting and reception will take place at the CML Conference. I will let you know locations prior to the conference.

CAST Session - Thursday, June 24 - 10:15-11:45am

The Long Cold Walk - Into Skiing's History (film)
In the far reaches of the Altay Mountains in North Western China on the boarder of Mongolia a few families live much as they have for a thousand years. More exciting is the fact they perform their daily duties on skis and build the equipment that they ski on.

Hearing about these ancient families living in the Altay, Warren Miller Entertainment dispatched a small crew of one cameraman, an assistant, still photographer and two skiers to track them down. Come hear about and see this exciting journey which took the crew and their guides into Northern China where they were overwhelmed by seven days in -30 degree temperatures walking with horses deep into the Altay mountains in search of the of this ancient culture of skiers.
Speaker: Chris Anthony; extreme skier and star of 20 Warren Miller films

CAST Elections and Annual Meeting

We will be having elections for the CAST executive board at our annual meeting at the CML Conference on Thursday, June 24, 3:30-5:30pm. If you are interested in running for the CAST board, please let me know no later than Monday, June 14. Eligible candidates can be either an elected council member or trustee, or the non-elected chief administrator from a CAST member municipality in good standing.

Our current incumbents who are running again are:
* William Buck, Mayor, Mt. Crested Butte
* Dick Cleveland, Mayor, Vail
* Tim Gagen, Manager, Breckenridge
* Michael Penny, Manager, Frisco
* Stuart Fraser, Mayor, Telluride

In addition, per our bylaws that were amended at the meeting on March 4, 2010, for purposes of voting, each CAST member municipality needs to designate two individuals, one of which shall be designated as the Primary designee with authority to vote on behalf of the member, and the other as Alternate if the primary designee is not able to vote at a meeting. Your designees should be the persons that most often attend our meetings. Please note that Associate Members are non-voting.

Please fill out the ATTACHED FORM stating your Primary and Alternate designees for your town and email to me at joyceb@coskitowns.com. Please return no later than Monday, June 14.
