Thank you for a great 2009 season!
We had many newcomers and veterans who came rowing on our Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday community sessions. We also hosted rowing programs from Harbor School, BMCC, Lang College, Stuyvesant High School, and City As School. The summer was especially notable for our long rows on the Delaware River, around Staten Island, around Manhattan, and north to the Clearwater Festival. Our rowing programs ends for the season, but we'll start up again once the weather warms in the spring. Stay tuned for opening date 2010!
Donate to VCB
If you enjoyed rowing with Village Community Boathouse this season, please consider donating to VCB. All our volunteers are unpaid, so we use 100% of your donations to buy supplies, repair boats, and buy insurance. All donations are tax-deductible. Click here to contribute.
Build your own whitehall gig this winter
Just because it's too cold to row doesn't mean VCB stays idle. Come down to the boathouse on Tuesdays from 4:00pm-6:30pm to help build our next whitehall gig. We may have Saturday sessions as well - check our calendar. This year, the boatbuilding area will have heat! Thanks to all our volunteers who worked all the way up to Christmas Eve to set up the ducts and curtains.
Members Meeting & Election - Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Mark your calendars now for our annual members meeting on February 24, 2010. You will elect a new Board of Directors. Keep an eye out for another email in January on time and location for the meeting, and how to become a member.
