Conant Metal & Light Leads the Way with Repurposed Lighting

Steve Cow Lamp

Steve Conant with his first repurposed light!

Steve Conant fashioned his first repurposed light from a cow watering station in 1972. Today, as ideas emerge for yet more repurposing, Steve is directing that Yankee ingenuity toward creating new jobs for Vermonters.

Stay tuned for exciting new developments as the Conant crew responds to ever-growing opportunities to make what was old and obsolete new and useful once again.

Repurposed Lighting Responds to Demand

InsulatorKitchen

Insulator pendants featured over a kitchen counter.

Many of our customers are discovering repurposed lighting for the first time
– and loving it!

Mason Jars, telegraph insulators, clothes line pulleys… were all forgotten resources waiting for a purpose. Providing new purpose for these resources is more fun than ever for the Conant artisans. Thanks for the opportunity!

WokLIghts

Wok spoon pendants are featured at The Farmhouse Tap & Grill.

The Farmhouse Tap & Grill on Bank Street in Burlington chose repurposed lighting to transform their dark and dank basement into a warm and inviting parlor-style lounge and restaurant. Wok spoon pendants, industrial gear-based table lights and a menu board suspended from garden trowels sets the mood and contributes to the cozy yet hip décor.

Whiskey2

Vintage Whiskey Bottle is now a Repurposed Sconce!

Laurie brought in vintage jars and whiskey bottles to Conant Metal & Light after seeing a segment featuring our work with Ball Jars on WCAX, Channel 3 News. Here's what she had to say:

"I brought in the bottles to be changed into light fixtures. I was so pleased that you were able to adapt them into such beautiful sconces. Your creativity and artistic ability just blows my mind! Thanks for all your help."
