A monthly meeting session for artists designed to nurture exchange, communication, and the sharing of ideas and practices.
This new initiative by DNAWORKS founders Daniel Banks and Adam McKinney comes as a response to the growing need among artists to collaborate and empower one another in creating new, socially relevant work.
With that goal in mind, DNAWORKS is sponsoring a monthly, three-hour gathering that will allow artists to:
▪ discuss projects and opportunities
▪ share skills and methodologies
▪ build partnerships
▪ get practical advice on challenges related to their work.
DNAWORKSHOP will meet on the last Sunday of every month from 2 to 5pm.
While the initiative seeks to engage primarily young, early career artists who share the vision
of using their art to make a positive difference in the world, the sessions are open to all artists
residing in or visiting New York who are interested in becoming part of the process.
The first DNAWORKSHOP is scheduled for Sunday, February 28, 2-5pm at:
La Mama ETC Rehearsal Studios, 47 Great Jones Street
(between Bowery and Lafayette)*
Participation is free of charge. Donations of $1-$5 will be gladly accepted to offset the cost of space rental.
For more information and to RSVP, please contact Aktina Stathaki at Aktina@dnaworks.org.
*DNAWORKSHOP will meet in a new space each month – keep an eye on the DNAWORKS website, www.dnaworks.org, for next month’s location!
