Preamble to an Advertisement

Well folks, this is the first newsletter from the Brian Hudson Incorporated since I returned from the Summer Ramble. And though I haven't been resting on laurels, as much as I’d like to brag about my accomplishments and the long work-days I've put in over the last couple of months, the ‘Preamble to an Advertisement’ section of my newsletter is no place for any such accounting. No no... this a place where the reader and the author exist on common ground. There will be neither boasting nor manipulation of the reader’s thoughts in this section of the newsletter. No way, no how.

This is a place where I thank you for reading this far. It’s a place where I let you know that I’ve been listening to the new Bon Iver (thanks for the recommendation Brady), Ray Charles, the Avett Brothers, Motopony, Willie Nelson, the new Robert Earl Keen, and Hoagy Carmichael. And it’s good to be listening to music again. It’s a place where I tell the reader that I’m looking forward to the cooler weather and rain here in Central Texas, but I’ve been grateful to live a bike-ride away from Barton Springs Pool. Though it's no good seeing Marshall Hood, Nigel Frye, and the Vargas family departing my neighborhood, it is good welcoming Drew Pressman and Raina Rose.

And now that the sentimental stuff has been delivered, I’m ready to start up the self-promtional spin. So hold tight to your centers and be wary of the following propaganda...

He'll never have to work a day in his life.

Finally! I can now get to telling you all about the many accomplishments at Brian Hudson Inc. Let’s see... I’m trying to think here.

Actually, on considering it, the conquests of the last couple of months have been fairly modest. I’ve learned and written some new tunes, played out a good bit, and added a host of gigs to the calendar where I’ll be swapping songs with some singer-songwriters I greatly admire.

There’s certainly some big things cooking, but they’re slow-roasting and not ready to exit the oven quite yet. So I’m just going to leave them where they are and leave y’all for now with a listing of the next couple of month’s worth of gigs.

Upcoming Shows

I'm playing many Fridays at Rudino's Pizza and Grinders (Round Rock, TX) and Sundays at Romeo's (Austin, TX). These gigs are somewhat impromtu, so you'll just have to call the venue or hit me up on the Facebook to see about them.

And now I bid you all to take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Peace,

P.S. Big thanks to Rachel Bilardi for returning to her post as ‘intern’ to help with the slow-roasting here at Brian Hudson Incorporated.
