May 2011 News -THE ROAD TO THE CROWN

"The Road to the Crown" -- this month's new release -- is a different kind of story for several reasons.

First, it was inspired by current events that touched my state (Wisconsin) and family. Second, it's a "quieter" narrative than I usually write, taking place "between the action" as it were. Third, and maybe most importantly to you, it's the first e-book I've released where you get to set your own price.

That's right, you decide what you want to pay for this e-book (at least if you buy it from Smashwords). You can even decide to get it for free if you want.

So, here's a link to set your own price and buy it from Smashwords. And here's a link if you'd rather buy it from Kindle at the usual price ($1.49).

Whatever you pay, I hope you like the story. Why not drop me a line and let me know?

How's that for a start to this newsletter? Also in this edition, you'll find out about Crimson & Thor on YouTube, an update on Frost Harrow, the ever-popular Appearances and Editorial Calendar. Plus, some links to some new wallpapers as well.

What are you waiting for? Enjoy!

THOR LOSER comes to YouTube!

I'm really proud to have released my first-ever e-book trailer. It's for "Thor Loser" (as if you couldn't guess from the headline), and you can find it on YouTube here (on my channel).

Naturally, after you've watched the video you'll want to buy the book. (At least, I hope you will.) So, here's the links you need:

Click this link to buy "Thor Loser" for Kindle, Nook, & all e-formats on Smashwords!

Click here to buy "Thor Loser" for Kindle on Amazon.

It's a steal at only $1.49 in all e-book forms. Buy it!

Frost Harrow Update

This month's Frost Harrow is a bit racy, so I thought I'd warn you up front (pictures follow).

Frost Harrow is a series of modern-day Gothic horror novels in the tradition of Dark Shadows. As such FH deals with adult issues -- such as language, sex, and violence -- more than my work on, say, Dragonlance or any of the novelizations I've done. (Though certainly some of my Crimson stories have contained adult content and language.)

Because the series features adult content, it requires covers that appropriately convey what readers will find inside the pages (or within the e-book).

So, the covers can be, and probably should be, somewhat racier than normal fare. The question is, how far could/should the cover go? Below are three cover roughs, each showing a bit more skin than the last.

My questions to you, my readers, are:

Which one of the three would most entice you to buy Frost Harrow: Scream Lover?

Frost Harrow #1, Scream Lover, remains on schedule for a summer 2011 release.

Editorial Calendar

Here's the latest update on my upcoming projects. As you remember, I've split the Frost Harrow books out into their own section. I hope you'll join me in this ongoing adventure in the macabre!
