In July the Club is closed:

July 4th for the holiday and July 11 & 12 for Film Shoot

SUMMER HOURS AND OTHER CLUB CLOSING

Summer Dining at the Club
It is summer and it is hot and we still don't have central Air Conditioning! Work is progressing - we are making it through Landmarks and hope to begin some interior work during our 2 week annual maintenance. There will be more on the AC project in a later email.

In the meantime beginning Wednesday, July 3rd through Sept 1, members will have their choice of dining areas:
* With AC - The Ballroom on the 1st floor will have AC powered by new and stronger window units. OR
* With Fans - Members may still dine on the second floor or balcony BUT there will be no AC just old fashion cross ventilation and fans.

NOTE; Antonio will be commanding the bar on the 1st floor. If demand indicates a need a second bartender will be stationed on the 2nd floor.

Summer Saturdays - The Club is closed on Saturday starting July 6th through August 31st.

August Maintenance Closure - August 16 through September 3. The Club will reopen on Wednesday, September 4th.

Moon Landing - July 1969 -- Where were you?

While it is recognized that many of you were not born yet, there plenty of us who were. On July 17th, we'll raise a glass (or two) in celebration of the 50th anniversary (actual landing was July 20th). We'll even play the video of the landing 9pm.

Would you want to share your memories of watching the moon landing? If you do - click here and leave your memories -- Please put Moon Landing in the subject!
We will share the memories (with or without your name) and it will be part of the Club Archive.

AND before the landing why not take in a game of Billiards and 1/2 price drinks all night.

BILLIARDS & GAMES NIGHT - Wednesday, June 19th 6:30pm to 10pm

Beer and wine by the glass will be $5 and selected appetizers will be 1/2 price.

A Different Kind of Lobster Night - Thursday, August 15th at 6:30pm

We are still going to do our traditional summer closing with lobster but this time it will be lobster roll, hot dogs, steak sandwiches and more.

It will be more relaxed and fun for everyone. Details to come soon.

Monthly Club Meetings

Beer Club meets every the second Thursday of month at 8:00 pm in the Board Room. SUSPENDED -- Kurt has hung up his stein. If you are interested in taking up the stein please contact Kurt or Front Desk

Book Club has changed when it meets - now meeting on the first Friday of the month at 7pm in the Board Room. Book Club is on hiatus for July and August. Next meeting is Friday, September 6th - Discussing three books: Around the World in 80 Trees by Jonathan Drori At the Edge of the Orchard by Tracy Chevalier O Pioneers! by Willa Cather

Artful Dodger Poetry Readings is held the third Saturday of the month. Offering poets an open mic. Next meeting is Sunday, July 21st at 4pm

Committee Meetings

All members are welcome to join the various committees of the club. Committees are where the work and planning for the Club is done. Service on the Committees also makes members eligible for election to the Board of Directors.

STANDING COMMITTEES
Entertainment Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month. Nadia Bartolucci and Chelsea Thompson, Co-Chairs
House Committee meets the next to last Wednesday of each month. Douglas Graham Moore, Jr. , Chair
Membership Committee meets the third Thursday of each month. Leslie McKinley, Chair.
Finance Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month. Bob Gilbert, Chair.

AD HOC COMMITTEES
Communication Committee meets as needed, Leslie McKinley, Chair
Reciprocal Committee meets as needed, Dennis Baker, Chair

The Montauk Club offers its members reciprocal privileges to a number of clubs, many of which are outside of the United States. Club members wishing to avail themselves of these agreements need to obtain a letter of introduction to present to the reciprocal club for each visit. General Clubhouse Information

A la carte dining is available on Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm, with the last order to the kitchen at 9:30 pm. The Club bar is open Wednesday through Saturday 5:30pm to 11pm with last call at 10:45 pm. SUMMER HOURS - CLUB IS CLOSED ON SATURDAY UNTIL SEPTEMBER 7th

▪ Our traditional Sunday brunch is served 11:00-3:00 pm, with the last order to kitchen at 2:30 pm.
▪ Happy Hour is every Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm. Drinks are half price.
▪ For special occasions – weddings, parties, meetings, etc. – members are, of course, invited and encouraged to make individual arrangements.
▪ Our traditional Sunday brunch is served 11:00-3:00 pm, with the last order to kitchen at 2:30 pm.
