At the Montauk Club - May 2019

Busy Month Ahead!!

It is a full month with 2 special brunches, New Members Dinner (watch for invitation in the mail too) and our annual Members meeting. Mark you calendars and don't forget to email or call in your reservations.

We welcome April new members: Cameron Fairall, Jill Allen Stengel, Robert Taylor, and Melissa Turoff.

The invitations have been sent for our annual welcome dinner for new members who have joined the club between April 2018 and March 2019.

It is a wonderful tradition that includes entertainment by the Princeton Tigertones.

Cost: New members $35 Longtime members $60 and Children 12 and under $20 (Tax and Admin fee are included)

Mother's Day Brunch - Sunday, May 12th

Annual Members Meeting - Wednesday, May 15th 7pm

The annual meeting of the membership will include an update on the HVAC fund and project along with other committee reports.
Please plan to attend the meeting and stay for dinner afterwards

BILLIARDS & GAMES NIGHT - Wednesday, May 15th 7:30pm to 10pm

After the Annual Meeting - join in a game of pool or cards.

Beer and wine by the glass will be $5 and selected appetizers will be 1/2 price.

Billiards & Games Night is held the 3rd Wednesday of month.

PSCC House Tour - Sunday, May 19th

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Our Club is part of the annual PSCC House Tour on May 19th. We get to show off our clubhouse Noon -4pm. We are looking for some volunteers to help guide folks through the club house.

If you can take a 1 hour shift it would be a big help. Please let Sarah know or email frontdesk@montaukclub.com. There will also be a info session for the curious tomorrow May 2 at about 7:15pm

SHARE YOUR CLUB MEMORABILA - Wednesday, June 12th

On Wednesday, June 12th the Brooklyn Public Library will be at the Club to scan your Club memories. The scanned pictures, menus, programs and other documents will then become part of the Montauk Club Collection maintained by the library. The BEST thing is the items stays with you. There will be more information in uncoming eblasts.

Monthly Club Meetings

Beer Club meets every the second Thursday of month at 8:00 pm in the Board Room. SUSPENDED -- Kurt has hung up his stein. If you are interested in taking up the stein please contact Kurt or Front Desk

Book Club has changed when it meets - now meeting on the first Friday of the month at 7pm in the Board Room. Next meeting is Thursday May 9th - The selection is Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Artful Dodger Poetry Readings is held the third Saturday of the month. Offering poets an open mic. Next meeting is May 11th at 4pm

Committee Meetings

All members are welcome to join the various committees of the club. Committees are where the work and planning for the Club is done. Service on the Committees also makes members eligible for election to the Board of Directors.

STANDING COMMITTEES
Entertainment Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month. Nadia Bartolucci and Chelsea Thompson, Co-Chairs
House Committee meets the next to last Wednesday of each month. Douglas Graham Moore, Jr. , Chair
Membership Committee meets the third Thursday of each month. Leslie McKinley, Chair.
Finance Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month. Bob Gilbert, Chair.

AD HOC COMMITTEES

Reciprocal Committee meets as needed, Dennis Baker, Chair

Reciprocal Clubs

The Montauk Club offers its members reciprocal privileges to a number of clubs, many of which are outside of the United States. Club members wishing to avail themselves of these agreements need to obtain a letter of introduction to present to the reciprocal club for each visit. General Clubhouse Information
* A la carte dining is available on Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm, with the last order to the kitchen at 9:30 pm. The Club bar is open Wednesday through Saturday 5:30pm to 11pm with last call at 10:45 pm.

▪ Our traditional Sunday brunch is served 11:00-3:00 pm, with the last order to kitchen at 2:30 pm.
▪ Happy Hour is every Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm. Drinks are half price.
▪ For special occasions – weddings, parties, meetings, etc. – members are, of course, invited and encouraged to make individual arrangements.
