At the Montauk Club - June 2019

Some things to note this month:

▪ Club is closed on Wednesday, June 12th for filming the new Amazon series The Hunt.

SHARE YOUR CLUB MEMORABILA - Thursday, June 13th between 6-8pm

NEW DATE -- Thursday, June 13th the Brooklyn Public Library will be at the Club to scan your Club memories.

Did you get married, have a graduation party, bar/bat mitzvah or any other celebration at the Club? Make them part of the Club Archives !

The scanned pictures, menus, programs and other documents will then become part of the Montauk Club Collection maintained by the library. Not only do you keep your memorabilia, you will be provided a digitized thumb drive of your items too.

BILLIARDS & GAMES NIGHT - Wednesday, June 19th 6:30pm to 10pm

Beer and wine by the glass will be $5 and selected appetizers will be 1/2 price.

Billiards & Games Night is held the 3rd Wednesday of month.

Monthly Club Meetings

Beer Club meets every the second Thursday of month at 8:00 pm in the Board Room. SUSPENDED -- Kurt has hung up his stein. If you are interested in taking up the stein please contact Kurt or Front Desk

Book Club has changed when it meets - now meeting on the first Friday of the month at 7pm in the Board Room. Next meeting is Friday, June 7th - Discussing 2 by Alexander McCall Smith - The Department of Sensitive Crimes (Detective Varg Series #1) and The Strange Case of the Moderate Extremists (DV Series #2) NOTE: Book Club will go on hiatus for July and August

Artful Dodger Poetry Readings is held the third Saturday of the month. Offering poets an open mic. Next meeting is June 15th at 4pm

Committee Meetings

All members are welcome to join the various committees of the club. Committees are where the work and planning for the Club is done. Service on the Committees also makes members eligible for election to the Board of Directors.

STANDING COMMITTEES
Entertainment Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month. Nadia Bartolucci and Chelsea Thompson, Co-Chairs
House Committee meets the next to last Wednesday of each month. Douglas Graham Moore, Jr. , Chair
Membership Committee meets the third Thursday of each month. Leslie McKinley, Chair.
Finance Committee meets the second Wednesday of the month. Bob Gilbert, Chair.

AD HOC COMMITTEES
Communication Committee meets as needed, Leslie McKinley, Chair
Reciprocal Committee meets as needed, Dennis Baker, Chair

Reciprocal Clubs

JUST ADDED -- Green Boundary Club in Aiken South Carolina!

The Montauk Club offers its members reciprocal privileges to a number of clubs, many of which are outside of the United States. Club members wishing to avail themselves of these agreements need to obtain a letter of introduction to present to the reciprocal club for each visit. General Clubhouse Information
* A la carte dining is available on Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm, with the last order to the kitchen at 9:30 pm. The Club bar is open Wednesday through Saturday 5:30pm to 11pm with last call at 10:45 pm.

▪ Our traditional Sunday brunch is served 11:00-3:00 pm, with the last order to kitchen at 2:30 pm.
▪ Happy Hour is every Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm. Drinks are half price.
▪ For special occasions – weddings, parties, meetings, etc. – members are, of course, invited and encouraged to make individual arrangements.
