At the Montauk Club - October 2018

BUSY MONTH AHEAD

There is something for everyone this month and just added is a Wine Tasting with Elissa Cooper on October 18th.

At the end of the month the Entertainment Committee is planning 3 family events- the family movie this month is Coco and a family brunch and Halloween buffet are in the works with details to come in the weekly eblasts - - so put them on your calendar now.

Change in schedule -- The Book Club has changed its monthly meeting time to the first Friday of the month. This month's the selection is very appropriate Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie.

And remember the Bottle + Bird gets in full swing this month - every Wednesday and Thursday.

CASTING CALL!!!

Mystery Night is planned for November 9th. Anyone interested in appearing in the mystery is asked to join Claudia Gilchriest and Mary Brennan in the card room of the Club on Wednesday, October 10th, between 7 pm and 8 pm. No acting experience necessary! Rehearsals will be October 25th, November 1st and November 7th.

ITALIAN DINNER NIGHT - Friday, October 12th at 6pm

Join in the festivities! A fine tenor will serenade us and there will be plenty of antipasti, pasta and wine. The meal will be served family style. This is an evening at the Club not to be missed. There will be special Italian wines priced right to compliment the meal.

Cost is $38 Adult and $15 Children 12 and under (Plus Admin Fee & Tax)

BILLIARDS NIGHT - Wednesday, October 17th 6:30pm to 10pm

Sharpen your cue sticks and join us for an evening for pool, cards, and board games! A variety of games will be provided, or bring your favorite from home!

Beer and wine by the glass will be $5 and selected appetizers will be 1/2 price.

Billiards Night is held the 3rd Wednesday of month. Future evenings are: Nov. 14th and Dec. 19th.

Wine Tasting with Elissa Cooper - Thursday, October 18th

Just in time to select your holiday wine, Elissa Cooper returns to the Club. Elissa has become a favorite with many members and the evening ia a wonderful mixture of wine and fellowship.

Cost is $35 per person

Just in time for Halloween - Hitchcock's best movie was low-budget filmed black and white by a TV crew -- Psycho
Mother would approve.

Family Movie and Dinner Night - Friday, October 26th, 6-8pm

This month's movie is COCO and to add to the fun there will be Skull Face painting and Halloween crafts.

Childcare will be provided so parents can enjoy dinner in the dining room while the kids are entertained in the Board Room.

Bottle & a Bird Returns

Every Wednesday and Thursday until Thanksgiving the menu will include a whole roasted chicken with 2 sides and a bottle of select wine for $50 plus admin and tax.

Beer Club meets every the second Thursday of month at 8:00 pm in the Board Room. Next meeting October 11th.

Book Club is changing when it meets - will now meet the first Friday of the month at 7pm in the Board Room. October selection is: Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie. Next Meeting: October 5th

Artful Dodger Poetry Readings is held the last Sunday of the month. Offering poets an open mic. Next readings: Sunday, October 28th at 1pm.

Committee Meetings

All members are welcome to join the various committees of the club. Committees are where the work and planning for the Club is done. Service on the Committees also makes members eligible for election to the Board of Directors.

STANDING COMMITTEES
Entertainment Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month. Nadia Bartolucci and Chelsea Thompson, Co-Chairs
House Committee meets the next to last Wednesday of each month. Douglas Graham Moore, Jr. , Chair

Reciprocal Clubs

The Montauk Club offers its members reciprocal privileges to a number of clubs, many of which are outside of the United States. Club members wishing to avail themselves of these agreements need to obtain a letter of introduction to present to the reciprocal club for each visit. General Clubhouse Information
* A la carte dining is available on Wednesday through Saturday beginning at 6:00 pm, with the last order to the kitchen at 9:30 pm. Friday and Saturday nights, the Club is open until midnight with last call at the bar 11:45 pm.

▪ Our traditional Sunday brunch is served 11:00-3:00 pm, with the last order to kitchen at 2:30 pm.
▪ Happy Hour is every Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm. Drinks are half price.
▪ For special occasions – weddings, parties, meetings, etc. – members are, of course, invited and encouraged to make individual arrangements.

Volunteers needed for October 14th Open House New York

Our Club will be open 12-4 to the Open House New York visitors. Join with other members as we show off our beautiful clubhouse and share some of its rich history.
